Robert Abernathy
It’s been a while since I had a songwriter so local I could literally drop in on my way to the store and write a tune. Especially someone like Robert Abernathy.
He’s the real deal. Robert was awarded 2018 ALABAMA COUNTRY ARTIST OF THE YEAR by the Alabama Music Awards. Additionally, in 2016 and 2017, Robert was the NATIONAL Gigmasters Country Artist of the year winning the coveted Rising Star award. Playing close to a combined 250 shows in 2016 and 2017 Robert has been ushering in local and national attention. (Check his site out here.)
When he’s not writing original stuff, he’s covering everything in the country catalog, and is leading a new Eagles cover band because he doesn’t have enough to do with a family and kids and a full time job as the local middle school science teacher. In fact, we usually write between 2nd and 4th periods in the science lab.
